Dennis Jones & Associates

Dennis Jones & Associates is a Melbourne, Australia based business in the book trade. We provide distribution, representation and consulting advice on publishing, and offer digital publishing and distribution solutions via our  Port Campbell Press division.

The business was formed in November 1991, with five books to distribute and one list to represent - we still have that original representation list in the form of  Bolinda Publishing.

Since then, we have developed our business to distribute for over 500 Australian publishers, plus the representation of some really significant Australian businesses.

Dennis Jones
Born and educated in Melbourne, Dennis has been in the book trade since 1970. He is very fortunate to have enjoyed 21 years with Harper Collins prior to commencing this business in November 1991. Dennis thoroughly enjoys working with experienced and honest people who share the spirit of books and reading. In 2011 Dennis was presented with the George Robertson Award for 'Service to the Publishing Industry'.
Lea Jones
Together with her husband Dennis, Lea started the business, thereby creating a niche market for small publishers as well as representing various larger companies. As Lea says, “one of our main focuses has been on service to our customers. We have a wonderful team of people working together to ensure the ongoing success of the business.”
Janet Judge
Janet has been with Dennis Jones & Associates for 13 years and in the book trade for 18 years. She plays an active senior management role within the company. Through liaison with both authors and publishers, Janet also designs and produces our monthly New Title Release brochures.

Nigel Page
Nigel has worked in the book industry for 12 years, the past 5 as an Account Manager for Harper Collins. His wit and humility (and excellent business relationships) are a welcome addition to Dennis Jones & Associates.
Andrew Farrell
Andrew likes coffee, wine, chocolate, books, music, cats, computers, long rambling sentences posing as lists, and Oxford commas. Oh, and data. Lots and lots of data. After almost 25 years playing with books and data at Pan Macmillan Australia he has now joined DJA to play with their data, to help with making digital books out of data, to assist in distributing that data, and to make sure as many people as possible can experience and appreciate the data in as many ways as can be imagined.

Andrew Hopwood
Hopwood Enterprises has been a publishers agent in Tasmania for 28 years. In that time Andrew has been a board director of the University of Tasmania’s publisher, Quintus, a consultant to the Tasmanian book of the year awards, and panel convenor at the Tasmanian book awards. He established the publisher Wellington Bridge Press and the distribution company Blackgum that specialises in Tasmanian publications. Andrew is married with two sons.
